Ratings & Reviews

Easter Lemon Cake is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 131.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from My opion on the Lemon cake This item could not be sliced properly because the icing was too hard. Although the inner cake was ok, I did not enjoy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It was so so I liked the cake but I really didn't care for the icing,it was hardened and not very flavorful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious and beautiful The cake was beautiful and delicious. I couldn't imagine sending a petty cake in the mail. One suggestion: make the knife-in-hot-water directions more prominent and maybe in red print. I missed it at first and butchered the first pieces.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looked Great, but... For the first time ever, we were disappointed with a Swiss Colony purchase. The frosting was so thick and hard, it couldn't be cut. When trying, it broke into several large chunks, too hard to eat. We did manage to salvage most of the actual cake, but it was too sweet. Everyone ended up tossing out most of their portion. I ordered it for Easter, but it arrived quite early, probably the cause of the hardness / staleness.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Easter egg cake Not worth the price. Beautiful cake but small. Cake is actually a tort and maybe 2” tall and you need to use a sawing action with sharp knife to slice thru icing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money While the cake is delicious it is greatly over priced. Add in the shipping charges and it’s over the top.

Question & Answer

I see many people said the outside frosting was hard and very sweet....not good reviews.  My question:  what did you use for the outer “frosting”?  Is it what they call fondant which fits that description above??

Asked by: Carol
Hi Carol, It is more of a white chocolaty coating. It is not fondant. We are looking into trying to get this outer layer softer. Thank you for your inquiry.

Why is the icing/frosting so hard and no response. I was planning to order this beautiful cake, but now am having second thoughts.

Was curious about the nutritional information?? calories etc??? I put mine right back into the freezer and took it out to thaw Easter morning. Everyone enjoyed the lemon flavor, but I agree with the others, it couldn't be cut into pieces.
